If you’re not a beer-junkie but you just like good beer, then you probably know Stella Artois. What you may not know, however, is that the company traces its roots to a brewery in Leuven, Belgium that started making beer in 1339!
In 1708, Sebastian Artois became the master brewer at the Leuven brewery, and 9 years later named the company after himself.
The actual Stella Artois beer didn’t come around until 1926, and started out as a seasonal Christmas time brew that soon became available year-round.
One cool note: the current package, bottle, and label has only been around since 1988!
